What I Learned
I learned that UX design and research is not a process that is limited to the realm of digital products such as; mobile apps. but can be applied to a process as large as this.
About the Company
An end-to-end event management platform designed to generate actionable insights that improve event performance for enterprises.
Problem
I collaborated in a team to do UX research/strategy for an event company. RainFocus wanted to offer virtual conferences as a new service. We were tasked with doing research about the subject and on how they could go about doing this type of event.
Research
First, we researched what types of virtual events were already out there. I worked remotely on an app. called Mural with my team members. We looked at categories such as; education, social media, virtual conferences, immersive experiences, museums, restaurants, etc... In addition, we used a strategic planning technique called SWOT to look for the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for each category.

Analysis
Next, we took the ideas gleaned from our SWOT analysis and applied them as suggestions for RainFocus to create virtual conferences.

Outcomes
All this research was put into a presentation for the company by the head of our team. We did get to review it before it was presented and give our input.
